Technique Tuesday – PRICKING

Images © 1990-2008

There are three basic pieces of equipment for this technique:

*Spongy mat

Pricker- You can buy an inexpensive one, or make one by sticking a darning needle into a champagne cork.

Template- You can make your own using card or plastic, or you can even just use a ruler. A template certainly makes life easier though. I use the mat pack from Stampin’ Up! which has the template and a spongy mat.

Spongy mat- use a spongy mouse mat

1- Prick a straight lines along the edge of the card.

2- Prick parallel lines along the border of your card.

3- Create a zigzag pattern and join the dots with a white pen or a coloured marker. This creates the illusion of stitching.

4- Create interest by pricking certain parts of your design.

Pricking is a quick, easy and inexpensive way to add some decoration to your card.
